The English Defence League’s Tommy Robinson decided to hold a Q&A on Twitter today, using the hashtag #askTommyRobinson.

That plan went awry pretty quickly once people who weren’t EDL supporters latched on.

Here are some of the best questions that Twitter users asked

I seem to have found this hashtag much less funny than a lot of other people. However I do like the first one here, and also this.

https://twitter.com/Dmcclane29/status/361099310584172544

2. Sam Malone

I like this one, even if I did ask it myself – https://twitter.com/SamMaloneUK/status/361110813479669760

3. Man on Clapham Omnibus

So what are the policy implications here then Sunny?

Ideology has nothing to do with skin colour. The end.

God what a loathsome pile of smug, unfunny rubbish. Smug liberals should be shipped off to some Muslim country permanently, unbearable fools

Ha ha ha how funny is this… NOT… It’s because of people like you tree huggers that this country is in the state that it is… when you take your head out of the sand in 10 15 years time YOU’LL all be calling for someone like Tommy to make a stand as you all mumble the words “what happened to this country”

Just because its a dirty subject DONT be fooled into thinking it doesn’t exist..
Try living in Bradford Blackburn Leicester Luton ECT ECT

Grow up and have a proper debate! But with your eyes open!

Hey GH, what does ‘ECT ECT’ mean? I’m not familiar with the abbreviation, but as you are so obviously a lover and defender of our great language and heritage, I hope you can tell me.

8. Johnny Ribena

GH, I live in Bradford, what about it?

And what are “tree huggers”? If that’s something to do with environmental protestors, I think you’re on the wrong website.

Oh, and “ECT” should be spelt “etc”, in lowercase. And “10 15” years? I think we’ll all be dead by then, unless someone invents a way for people to live over a millennium. “what happened…” (sic) and “when you…” (sic) should both have a capital “W”. There should be commas between the names of the cities. Oh, and I found the missing question marks from your comment, they were behind the fridge but I’ve put them here: ??

You should really try to make better use of the English language you’re pretending to “protect” and “defend”, or you’ll come across as a bit thick – a bit like your hero Tommy Robinson (or whatever name he’s using this week to illegally immigrate)!

Happy to help!

Keefus
Unfortunately is called predictive text..
Bloody phones are fast becoming a ruler of men..

However you have proved my argument by picking up a spelling mistake rather than join the debate in a adult fashion .. Typical liberal observation ..

10. Johnny Ribena

Oh, GH, you’d prefer some debate? Ok, you start with some proof to back up your claims, and maybe explain what you mean about Bradford etc. And tell us what “tree huggers” (whatever they are) have got to do with this.

Ha ha Johnny yet again my point proven! You lot would rather debate my twitter talk than to actually talk about the questions in hand.
It must be so wonderful living in your land of dreams, feathers and ideals.

Oh well never mind!

Sarah AB
”I seem to have found this hashtag much less funny than a lot of other people”.

Maybe hanging around with the Muslim haters and BNP/EDL enablers known as Harrys Place has dampened your sense of humour Sarah

13. Johnny Ribena

GH, I will debate your ass under the table, if you want to play.

Again, any facts to back up your claims? And (for the third time) what are you saying about Bradford?

Oh Johnny Johnny Johnny
A tree hugger is someone who just loves everyone and everything, doesn’t see bad in anyone and wonders around in a dream like state singing about how wonderful the world is.

If you truly live in Bradford then you know exactly the point I’m making yet if you’ve no idea what I’m getting at then you DON’T live in Bradford.

And as for your liberal BBC blinkered refuse to listen to anyone other than yourself mindset, ASK Tommy your self, actually take the time to ASK him not just shout him down and he will reply!

Ps. As I have a social life I’m actually going out now so sorry but cannot have a keyboard war with yet another keyboard warrior!

Night night

Tommy , please can you stop all non black people to stop going to Dubai & not to use middleestern petrol . Also ask your grand father , why they visited out country for a trade pourposes with the name of east India company .

16. Frank Barton

Ey up, GH, I’m Blackburn born and bred and I haven’t a clue what you’re taking about. Also, I’ve never hugged a tree in my life but I have sufficient intelligence to recognise your barely literate rants for the nasty, hate-filled bile that they are.

Tommy , please can you stop all non black people to stop going to Dubai & not to use middleestern petrol . Also ask your grand father , why they visited out country for a trade pourposes with the name of east India company .

Why do you refuse to debate Tommy about actual points he speaks of, if they are all so wrong then for once and for all debate him on his points and put an end to it, consistent diversion tatics only give strength.

Mine was funnier, although I love the fact that this racist numbnuttery was hijacked

Then Frank you are telling porkies
http://youtu.be/tyn0ongj0F8

It’s incredibly odd that you liberals accuse anyone who’s concerned about Muslim extremist as racist and of talking bile. It’s also very odd how quickly you start up with the insults and accusations. It’s also odd how you all accuse us of hating anyone of a darkened colour, any country outside the UK and anyone who isn’t British, YET as Tommy has said in EVERY single interview he’s ever done his ONLY concerns are Muslim extremist, the failure to integrate and their hope for sharia law.

Yet you all refuse to accept Tommy’s group have INDIAN, SIKH, PAKISTANI, ISRAELI, GERMAN, SWEDISH, DUTCH, AMERICAN etc and even GAY members, however that isn’t news though is it!

Ps seriously I’m off out now so I will not be responding further..

Play amongst your selves, oh here’s a idea for a good game you can play, it’s called “See who can bury their head in the sand the deepest”

Tony – one reason I wasn’t engaged by most people’s responses to the hashtag was that they weren’t focused on Islam/Muslims sharply enough.

22. Sparta Cuss

18.
No. Mine was more funny.

23. Spouta Fuss

19.
No. I live in Bradford.

If the EDL were concerned with the minority of Muslims that are extremists then their first choice of ally would be the majority of British Muslims.

The reason I don’t buy that is because by preaching exclusively to non-muslim Brits is completely effective. What influence do they have over Muslim communities. the only interaction between the EDL and Muslims is one of violence. The majority of mosques are run by people who are making every effort to Integrate, and many will open the doors to anybody who has questions about Islam. I’ve visited mosques, yet I’m still an atheist. That’s why I am a true patriot, because I’m so proud of the fact that you can believe what you want. yes, even though the EDL are regarded by many as fascists… nobody stops them meeting up in town centers.

The reason many Muslims want to live in a country as free as the UK is because through secularism, faith is no longer used as a method of Oppression. In Nigera, christianity is used in such a way. So why pick on Islam?

Its not about fighting oppression, radicalization or extremism. Its a classic case of people fearing anybody who is a little bit different to them. ‘Islamohpobia’ the irrational fear of Islam.

I would really like to edit that comment, but we all know lots of EDL members have a terrible grasp of the English language… so let’s just call amnesty on that… its been a long week.

Why do you blame other people for your problems?

Sarah AB thanks for making my point about your obsessional anti-Muslim hatred

28. Johnny Ribena

GH,

I’m not convinced by your definition of “tree hugger” but I’m certainly not the type of person you describe. There are many problems with the world, for example racism, prejudice and intolerance.

I do live in Bradford – Bierley to be exact. Look it up a map if you don’t believe me. And no, I still don’t know what you mean about my city. Why not just say it, so we can debate?

As for “blinkered”, that’s rich when you’re defending “Tommy Robinson” and his ilk. None more blinkered and prejudiced that the EDL. (I assume it’s still the EDL, most of the news reports I have seen recently suggest the group is splinterind due to infighting?)

Why would I want to ask “Tommy” anything? I think we all know what he stands for and what is at the root of his policies.

Enjoy your night out.

Mine was the most funny.
@27. Are you serious?

“In Nigera, christianity is used in such a way”

———-

No, in Nigeria it is Boko Haram, the Islamist group, who are imposing sharia and murdering thousands of people.

31. Abul Sadiq

How ufnair ! There taking all our jobs because there more qualified then us #askTommyRobinson

Bobby, yes, that too.

it would be nice if someone would take the EDL seriously… they have been around for like 2 years, and yet are allways in the news, allways making headlines, and just will not go away. its all fun and games taking the piss, but clearly there are major issues in our divided society

34. john Reid

12 tony, or sneering at people through insults, and laughing at somonme dirrerent to you, also might not be funny,

5 barry C, well said

35. David McIlwaine

GH your that stupid you have to abbreviate your name. This is the UK not UKKK. The UK is a nanny state to everyone who decides to float over on a lilo, GET OVER IT. If half your followers voted for their local politician rather than who will win big brother whilst sitting in the pub, maybe just maybe we wouldnt have to hear your slack-jawed verbal diarrhea

PS: most people still check what they have written afterwards, even though they have used predict-a-text

36. Mark Knight

Having read a few of the comments on #AskTommyRobinson I have to say it actually makes most of the people look worse that Tommy or the #EDL. Some people must have spent their whole day making pointless inane comments but to what end? making themselves look stupid seems to be all they have achieved, and improved their tweet count as some see this as a validation for their empty lives.

Nice to see another “huge” turnout in Croydon yesterday. Maybe the forecasted light drizzle and infrequent showers was too much to bear for these hardmen.

Marching, or pub-crawling, season is almost over now before it starts to get a bit chilly and therefore dangerous for the knuckledraggers. Wouldn’t want to catch a nasty cold.

38. Gareth Thompson

Would any of you Guardian reading sheep get off your high horse and actually look into the reasons why the EDL exist? I’ve never heard Tommy Robinson say anything remotely racist. Ok, the EDL appeals to lots of uneducated, angry young men, but try and understand why they have come into existence, and why they are increasing in popularity. Go and read the mission statement on their website. Alternatively, get your sandals on, go and buy a guardian, and a vegan cupcake to eat with your fair trade coffee, jump back on your high horse and brand everyone racist that dares to highlight genuine social issues.

39. Man on Clapham Omnibus

34. john Reid

Better to invade their country eh!

I love the one with the cat

@5

No sense of humour then? Or is it the case you only laugh when society’s weak and disenfranchised are being mocked?

@38

You’re using the comments on this site to formulate a pretty weak argument against those who oppose fascism and racism.

By the way, Tommy Robinson isn’t working class, he’s petit bourgeois. He owns a tanning salon and is a landlord. Those to whom he speaks own nothing. And you can’t see the irony. I feel sorry for you.

@38

“Go and read the mission statement on their website”.

Why? Will it tell me something I don’t already know? I think not.

“Alternatively, get your sandals on, go and buy a guardian, and a vegan cupcake to eat with your fair trade coffee, jump back on your high horse and brand everyone racist that dares to highlight genuine social issues”.

Feeble and you have to rely on cliches. Genuine social issues aren’t being addressed by the EDL and you delude yourself if you think that. The EDL is more interested in advancing the divide and rule strategies of the ruling classes. But you can’t see that.

44. Johnny Ribena

Gareth Thompson raises some interesting points, once one blanks out the insults.

Why do the EDL exist? They’re not a political party who are trying to effect change through the ballot box, from local to European level, like the BNP. True, “Tommy Robinson” does avoid publicly saying anything racist – he seems too intelligent to do that and face the consequences. However, even he admits many EDL members are racist, a fact which we all knew before he confirmed it.

Having read the Mission Statement it is still unclear exactly what the EDL wants. They can’t change the laws because they’re not a political party, so is it all about “calls on the government” and “shows of strength”? If the latter, they appear to be losing ground fast as the pictures from yesterday’s poorly-attended march, and others in recent weeks, show. If the former, why not become a political party and try to win enough votes to actually change the laws?

Why does the EDL attract angry young men? Probably several reasons:
1. It’s a tribal thing. Look at any picture of an EDL march and there is a popular “look” – shaved or very short hair, tattoos, t-shirts, cans of beer. Back in the day they would have all been wearing the same football shirt, now they’re EDL shirts.
2. In a recession, people look for others to blame. In the early 1980s it was the blacks, now it’s Muslims. If you can’t get a job, and all your mates are telling you it’s because of the Muslims, it might make sense, it might give you someone to blame, and a target for any excess testosterone.
3. Undoubtedly, some angry young men join the EDL (and attend the marches) looking to fight. To fight Muslims, the police and occasionally between themselves. See YouTube for the evidence, or read comments on the EDL’s Facebook pages to see confirmation. The police generally do a good job of preventing the violence, no doubt at substantial cost to the taxpayer. These EDL men are angry, young, strong, and often under the influence of drink. Violence is always only a few moments away, and I’m sure (from having attended counter-demos) that some of them definitely “want it”. Of course being kettled by the police, or prevented from marching in certain areas, also allows the EDL to play the “martyr” card, an easy card to play but a powerful one.

Right, sorry to disappoint Gareth, but I don’t own any sandals, I eat meat, prefer tea to coffee, can’t stand horses and the Guardian isn’t published on a Sunday so I can’t buy that either. How will I ever live up to your stereotype?

45. john P reid

wouldnt know who’s country, I dont know who you are refering to either, but i do know the BNP were against both Iraq and Afghanistan.

The media have the most to answer for here. The murder of Lee Rigby was exactly that. A murder. It was horrific. HOWEVER, it was committed by two very misguided individuals. The media (including the BBC) immediately termed it a “terrorist act”. Where, do you think, that will lead? One place only. Racial hatred. If the attack had been committed by a white Christian towards a non-white, non-Christian, would it have been termed the same way? Nope. Why does every murder by a non-white need to fall under the umbrella of “terrorism”? It wasn’t “terrorism”, it was “murder”. If the west hadn’t invaded Iraq and Afghanistan, this type of crime would never have been committed. It is a term constructed by the politicians to justify the invasions of Islamic countries for financial gain. The media then promote it, sensationalise it (again, for financial gain), whip up some hysteria, and war becomes justified. Simple plan and very effective. Self-perpetuating. And the politicians can just stand back and do nothing more. Those with a vacuum between their ears then hence find a voice. This is where the EDL come in. Despicable people who incite hatred because they don’t have anything else to fight for. I’m all for free speech, but educated free speech.

I’m spiritual, but not religious. I’m white and Welsh (not quite sure where I stand in the EDL’s “hate-o-meter”).

47. Gareth Thompson

What I perceive the EDL to be worried about; is the growth of Islam in the U.K, its slow rate of integration, it’s apparent widespread supremacist ideologies and the way certain Muslims are indulging in backward, barbaric practices in the name of Islam. What people worry about is the lack of ‘critical thinking’ within Islam, and the current state of our mainstream media and government who all seem to be petrified to criticise it also. I believe that the political correctness that is so prevalent in our society today is not only one of the biggest causes of the EDL’s increase in popularity, but is also the reason why many people hold an irrational fear of peaceful muslims. Until we can learn to have an honest debate about Islam/immigration etc, without throwing mud at anyone that sounds vaguely right wing, our society will continue to become increasingly divided and aggressive. Now I’m off for a vegan cupcake and a fair trade coffee. Peace out.

48. the a&e charge nurse

[46] ‘The media have the most to answer for here’ – jesus christ …. but at least you’re not blaming the EDL.

‘it was committed by two very misguided individuals’ – what were they misguided by – some say shouting ‘allahu akbar’ during the hacking gives a clue?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p9i7fRy26V4

FFS Tony – I meant that the comments weren’t sharply targeted at the EDL’s Islamophobia.

[48] I think you missed the point. Media attention on breeds hatred. Can you not see that sensationalising it brings more attention to it? Then those narrow-minded bigots jump all over it and make the situation even more inflamed. The fact that you had to post the YouTube footage proves my point. The more these barbaric acts are committed, the more hatred there is, followed by more media attention, followed by more barbarism. It’s a vicious circle. Not a difficult concept. Racial hatred isn’t the answer, education is.

51. the a&e charge nurse

[50] the beheadings, stonings, rank chauvinism, and dread fear of open minded enquiry long predate the MSM.

I saw in Pakistan the other day the shite and Sunni are continuing with their theological discourse.
http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2013/jul/27/pakistan-bomb-attacks-kill-injure

Still, lets stick with jokes about the EDL on twitter, eh?

48.
Also, Quoting from Bible.
The article is about a tweetfest not killings so, yes, let’s continue with jokes.

That last one, the one about crayons, is even bit if you know that he responded to it.

https://twitter.com/Anthony_Heslop/status/361546880892665856/photo/1

Bit/better. damn.

[51] Again. You’ve missed the point. There are extremists in every country. In every religion. No jokes are required by anyone on Twitter, since the EDL ARE their own joke. They don’t even know what England is, or what their heritage is. They just want to be seen as people who have made a difference. Problem is, others suffer. Like I said earlier, it’s about EDUCATION. On the inside we’re all the same. Problem is, life happens and we are a product of our own experiences. That makes us what we are. P.S. In case you think I might be uneducated, I am a nuclear physicist (honestly, that’s true) and I question EVERYTHING. I don’t normally have strong feelings about things, but I do about this. And I look at evidence. I worry that a nurse with this attitude is currently working. I think you need to look back at what Hippocrates was all about.

I don’t normally have strong feelings about things, but I do about this. And I look at evidence.

What evidence have you looked at and how do you discount they made a video warning of the offender 3 years before the beheading incident?

There is a difference between a joke and a lower class you can snear down upon because they do not behave to your standards, tensions in society are always felt at the bottom first, and those who react to them arent the best equipt to, but your alright, jack

[56] “There is a difference between a joke and a lower class you can snear down upon because they do not behave to your standards, tensions in society are always felt at the bottom first, and those who react to them arent the best equipt to, but your alright, jack”

I am Welsh, working class and was made redundant in October last year. I’m on ESA and have been to the food bank twice in the last two months.

“What evidence have you looked at and how do you discount they made a video warning of the offender 3 years before the beheading incident?”

I don’t believe I did discount that. And the evidence is the question ‘What is English?’ combined with EDL’s OWN words and their inability to answer it.

You have no idea.

I don’t believe I did discount that. And the evidence is the question ‘What is English?’ combined with EDL’s OWN words and their inability to answer it.

This is exactly my point, no, of course you did not discount that, but have you seen how stupid they are?? I mean really, they have the inability to answer!! They dont know what England is, or what their heritage is!!! They arent educated like me!!! In case you think I might be uneducated, I am a nuclear physicist honestly, thats true!

So even though they did try to make a difference and warn people about something, and were right, have you seen how stupid they are? What a joke, they arent educated like me..

59. the a&e charge nurse

[55] ‘No jokes are required by anyone on Twitter, since the EDL ARE their own joke’ – the EDL (in the context of LC) are usually a comfort blanket to avoid dealing with awkward questions about the excesses of religious lunacy.

I remember some cartoons in Denmark – they didn’t go down too well did they, especially with many publishers being shit scared of the repercussions if they dared publish them?

You are worried about by comments – is it because you think the ghastly mess created by intolerant an religion should be beyond criticism?

I give up. I’ve said it a number of times. It’s about education. On both sides. If we carry on the way we are, there’ll be more bloodshed. White/Black/Caucasian/Asian/Christian/Sikh/Muslim/Buddhist/Agnostic/Atheist/Black/Brown, whatever. It’s going nowhere apart from hatred. That’s it.

If you need a platform for your views, try Twitter where it’s public and isn’t hiding. That’s where my views are expressed. And no, I don’t believe that Islam is without question. Neither do I believe that Christianity is. And neither do I confuse education with class.

61. the a&e charge nurse

[60] ‘It’s about education’ – OBL attended King Abdulaziz University, while Mohammad Sidique Khan the so called leader of the London tube bombers was, ironically in this context, a ‘learning mentor’ at Hillside Primary School in Leeds.

You can’t reason with unreason, codified in medieval books one of which is said to be the literal word of god.
I watched ‘the quran’ the 2hr doc on channel 4 recently.
The books contents seem so contradictory that any nasty theocrat can interpret it to rationalise all manner of crazy ideas and there isn’t a single authority to ultimately say if they have understood it correctly.

As a scientist you should be familiar with the concept of evidence?
These dodgy narratives only persist because they emerged from an era when no such evidence was required.
Put it is this way – have you seen any miracles lately?

Hahahahahaahaha the people that asked these questions are legends!

These tweets are evidence of the vacuousness of liberal orthodoxy.
Anywhere you find Islam you find organized violence directed at the unsuspecting host. Please take a look at what Muhammad did in Medina to his hosts. He’s the exemplary Muslim afterall.

on the issue of “What Is English…?”

Pilate asked a similar question of Christ…

What is truth?

the English are (as oppose to English is) are a Western Germanic speaking Northern European nation, occupying the lions share of the British Isles and the best farmland. They arrived in late antiquity, either as Roman auxiliary troops or as invaders seeking booty. They probably came from Frisia and Jutland, mythologically they are descended from Hengst and Horsa and have strong Scandinavian links. That aside they were possibly worshipers of Ingaveon (Frigga AKA friday night) a female deity…let’s forward wind to another era. They were conquered decisively by the Normans a French speaking group of Danes from a northern French duchy. The Language of the English ceased to be written down for a few hundred yesrs after this conquest, revived by vernacular writers like Chaucer …

I could go on. The English are a fairly distinct ethnic group with a fairly long history and a clear geographical location. The English are definitely not the Umma or the Ikwan which culturally originated from invasions out Arabia to smash settled Christian communities in Egypt, Syria, Palestine, Anatolia and the Zoroastrian Sassanid empire of Persia (and the Hindu population of India and the Buddhists of central Asia). They do not come in peace.

65. Paul peter Smith

@61
The koran does come across as a bit confusing until you get your head around the idea of abrogation. Basically, where two passages seem to contradict each other then the later entry takes precedence in other words the stuff at the back trumps the stuff at the front.

66. George King

`These tweets are evidence of the vacuousness of liberal orthodoxy.
Anywhere you find Islam you find organized violence directed at the unsuspecting host. Please take a look at what Muhammad did in Medina to his hosts. He’s the exemplary Muslim afterall.’

Your comments are evidence of Zionist insanity. Those who the gods would destroy they first make mad or in your case Lady Ga Ga.

67. Shatterface

Your comments are evidence of Zionist insanity. Those who the gods would destroy they first make mad or in your case Lady Ga Ga.

Yeah, fight Islamophobia with antisemitism.

Question,is the other article saying how trolls, will end up getting themselves in trouble, only directedat liberals and not when people smear at Robinson,

This worked out really well for our Yaxley son.

70. Micheal Jackson

Hey it dosent matter if you black or white ?????

@GH

I lived in Leicester for 3 years…though not aesthetically pleasing, I did find it pleasing generally with regards to the people that live there yes. Funnily enough I did get into a spot of bother once, I was assaulted by some white thugs…thankfully though some asian guys were there to give me a hand. Wake up and smell what you’re shovelling.

72. tigerdarwin

@Barry C 5

”Smug liberals should be shipped off to some Muslim country permanently, unbearable fools”

Actually mate you would be quite at home , though you are too stupid stupid to show any geographical awarenes of Muslim countries.

Barry you are right! Uneducated pillocks like that need shipping off to some remote island where, extremists of all kinds, all colours and religions that includes Robinson, Chaudhry, Griffin, Qatada etc should be placed and exposed to anthrax

74. Rajesh Kumar

I am an Indian man , who has experienced racism in the 80’s from white and black people – but I went to school with a lot of the guys who called me ‘pak1’ – and we became mates -some I call really good friends . The enemy is muslims who will never integrate and were molesting ‘Indian’ (not f00kin Asian) girls in the 80’s too – google ‘Shere Punjab’ .
While I hate the skinhead element of the edl – they are the only group to actually bring out into the open the perverted Pakistani muslims who (because of the white liberal hand wringers ) have been able to enslave children for their deviant and vile sexual desires .
There is blood on the Labour councils hands ,for allowing this to happen

Take a look at HOW Egypt, Palestine, Syria and Turkey became Muslim. Take a look at how Afghanistan switched from being Buddhist to Islamic. The statues at Bamiyan for instance, we’re destroyed to erase the evidence of a Buddhist population there. The Burmese and Thai are next. I couldn’t care less one way or the other about Israel. However, the evidence from 600-700 strongly suggests that Islam is an incorrigible civilization destroyer. The early ghazi
Who did invade and occupy Christian Egypt, Palestine and Syria cheekily called themselves immigrants too. They occupied barracks outside of Roman/Greek cities and only mixed with the locals to collect taxes and execute rebels. Zionist? Have you paid any attention
To the obliteration of the settled Christian remnants in the Eastern Med? It’s the end of an epoch. I doubt there’ll be more than 20,000 Copts left in Egypt after the current ethnic cleansing. No more than 20,000 Nestorians and Catholics left in Syria by the time the Islam Brotherhood are through with them. Get your head out of the sand.

Assuming your strategies, The Black Knight supposed to be racist in disguise. All replies are childish. When you try to defend social extremities whose characteristics lie on primitivism such contradictions happen very often.

Illiterate question, as I have the occasion to speak english very rare: are you trying to envision on mortals the mentality of the future in lack of anything substantial regarding the present? If you’d merge immigration with arithmetics you’d have a tough one: 1 + 1 = 10. But it isn’t about this. It is about how good the immigrants speak english. Enjoy the numerical alphabet!

@ 6

“Grow up and have a proper debate! But with your eyes open”.

You debate with words/ideas, not with eye movements.

@30

“No, in Nigeria it is Boko Haram, the Islamist group, who are imposing sharia and murdering thousands of people”.

What? In all of Nigeria? Get real.

By the way, the rampant homophobia and the violence that accompanies it in East African countries like Kenya and Uganda, is fueled by Christianity.

A serious question; can anyone tell me why it seems to be obligatory for men on EDL marches to take their tops off?

I think we are all probably in agreement that, on any other day of the year, it is not socially acceptable to walk around a city centre with your torso on display, so there must be some reason why it is different when young men come together on an EDL demo. They are a “non-violent” group, so it cannot be for reasons of aggression or intimidation, but I cannot think of any other reason why it would be common practice. Can anyone help shed light on this phenomenum?

80. Stu Piddgunte

Some people in a far away land hate us, some have came here to hurt us. Ask yourself why?
It’s not like we have invaded other countries and made enemies. Oh wait, we are one of the worst culprits on the PLANET. Just because the Daily Mail says wars are legal doesn’t make it true, this type of thing has been going on for thousands of years.

Maybe look at your own government before blaming others.

Look at the bigger picture, some of us think we have poverty (I know we do) it’s NOTHING like some places but how would you know if you hate the people before you even get on the plane?

Stu, if only more people thought of it like you! Jake, they are not exactly the Chippendales either!!

82. Stephen Spender

If they were the best, it doesn’t say too much 🙂 Fight ignorance with education (i.e. higher ground), and don’t resort to crap jokes. If you don’t make smart jokes, the power is less, and all the recipient will do is laugh at it.

83. Stephen Spender

Also remember, you tabloid-obsessed folk, the photos you see everywhere of EDL supporters, pander to the football hooligan stereotype that is expected of racists generally. You can play the media game if you want, but it will blind you to realities.

Does anyone else find it ironic that those who are racist are always the first people to go out topless when the sun is out to get tanned?
