Is the era of white ‘traditional’ America over? That’s what Fox News and assorted pundits were saying after Obama’s re-election.

so last night, Comedy Central’s Jon Stewart decided to mock them. Worth watching as ever.

I truly think that comedians who tire of the nomadic life of stand-up should be considered for network news formats, as they seem to have an incisive sense of discernment for the blatant silliness of America. As evidence of this (if you needed any more after watching Mr. Stewart’s platinum touch), would be such luminaries as Gallagher and George Carlin (RIP).

Can I just say how stupid the ‘Democrats won by giving their supporters stuff they want!’ argument is? Yeah, that’s how politics works in a democracy! The parties make competing promises to the electorate, and the one whose promises benefit more voters wins (in theory, anyway). I mean, heaven forbid the Republican party ever make ‘gifts’ to their supporters when they’re in power… oh yeah, except for the tax cuts for the rich and subsidies for big business, of course.
