Donald Trump parody song goes for Christmas No 1

A new satirical music video features a three-foot puppet of Trump strutting, strumming, and warbling his way through Bohemian Rhapsody is going for the Christmas No. 1 spot.

The rewritten version of the iconic chart-topping hit was given a blessing by Brian May, describing it as, “a horrible example of bullying the defenceless by a rich man who apparently can buy anyone or anything he wants.”

The makers of the parody video say his hair is a work of art, “giving an off the pate experience as Trump supplants the guitar solo with a bagpipe scuffle.”

They have even created a website to explain why the video was made: http://www.trippinguptrump.com

I doubt Brain May endorsed the song by calling it “horrible” and accusing it of bullying, as related here.

Also, could someone with audio tell me if this is actually satirical? Currently sounds as if it’s just someone doing Bohemian Rhapsody in a silly voice.

I think the “horrible” quote in the article is relating to Trump’s development plans rather than the song itself.

The song is heinous though and I certainly never want to hear it again.

Yes, I assume that May did endorse the song, but his quote has been clumsily applied.

I won’t be buying it, although I did laugh at that “you don’t really matter” line.

Presentation is akin to Spitting Images. There are no side splitters in the lyrics, but the visuals might generate a few smiles.

The video is satire, but being funny is hard work.

Surely the point of it is to highlight the injustices wrought through the exercise of power, ego and money upon a number of less well off individuals and an environment that elected representatives appear unwilling to protect. If it raises awareness along these lines I think it will achieve some success.
