EDL to join other extremists at US Embassy demo

Members of the English Defence League are set to join extremists from the other side of the spectrum at the US Embassy in London today.

Messages posted to social media by EDL members today indicated they were planning to greet Anjem Choudhary’s crew, who are planning a protest regarding the anti-Mohammed film.

EDL leader Tommy Robinson has also called for a strong EDL presence.

A spokesperson from the Metropolitan Police told Liberal Conspiracy today that there were no plans to stop the demonstration from going ahead, though there would be a “appropriate” police presence.

When asked whether Anjem Choudhary’s past as the leader of two proscribed groups – Al-Muhajiroun and Muslims Against Crusades – would be taken into account, the Met spokesperson said to speak to the Home Office instead.

It seems the Met Police isn’t quite clear on what to do when members of proscribed groups turn up under a different name.

The protest will take place at 3pm today.

Anger against the film has now spilled to protests in several countries including Sudan, Lebanon, India, Yemen, Iraq and Iran.

I took a look at the film on the net, and for a few minutes I was waiting for Monty Python to show them selves.

I really thought it was a comedy, it was slowly dawning on me this was totally rubbish the acting was shocking the direction was a laugh.

But I will dam well state now the bloke who is obviously a moron has a right to do this crap, in the same way as Monty Python took off Christianity.

The Muslims seem to want to go to war, or fight a battle over a film which will never be shown if it is then it will be for a laugh. The Muslim community need to see their religion has to be stronger then this to think this is mockery.

These two groups are just a minor irritant to modern society, in the same way that today’s football hooligans are. Annoying – and even dangerous when they turn up somewhere – but not that important in the wider scheme of things.

So I have been amused for some time now, about why the EDL got such OTT coverage, condemnation, and mass mobilisations of people against them.
In a way that the Choudary nutters never did.
The EDL never amounted to much, despite all the shrill coverage they got from ”anti-fascists” and certain websites (like Pickled Politics).
