Would love to think the people of bradford west are starting to realise that electing an MP who doesn’t bother going to parliament or doing anything for his constituents – but simply uses his state wage to support his egotistical grandstanding – is a mistake.

Just what is it you want from this whole debacle, Sunny, because I am fucked if I can see it. Dragging corpses through the streets is never a welcome sight. This story must surely be dead now to most people. Galloway made a couple of remarks last week and now and the whole car crash has been played out in excruciating slow motion.

However, just to make sure, we are pulling the whole debacle through the mixer with predictable results. To what ends, Sunny? The biggest fallout to date is that a relatively minor Party, has crashed and burned, leaving many disillusioned people completely disenfranchised and in all probability outside the political process again. Make no mistake the Left have shot themselves in the foot, again, with the type of precision that a sharp shooter blush. Like watching a rerun of the Nineteen Eighties, with the various factions cutting each others throats and dividing and sub dividing to the point even Life of Brian wouldn’t bother with.

What is going to be different this time? Most people have their opinion on Galloway, one way or another. I bet many people have an opinion on what constitutes ‘rape’ one way or another as well.

Do you really expect to win hearts and minds on either subject replaying the same debate over and over. Are you really telling me that out of twenty six current stories that are deemed to be vital to the Left, Galloway is so important that he takes up two of those positions?

@11 I’d say this is a very big deal for the left, especially anyone who wants labour (or the ‘overton window’) to track to the left rather than further right. If Respect’s second coming can come crashing down after just a few short months then there’s serious questions about the politics, institutional setting and tactics of left-of-Labour formations that need to be thought over.

The first thing that comes to mind from this whole episode is ‘don’t involve George Galloway at all because the man is a complete fucking liability’.
