The British Banking Association has cancelled its summer party, it was announced today, as the fallout over the Barclays / Libor scandal continues.
In an email sent to its members (via Politics.co.uk), the BBA chief executive said:
We believe that in the current circumstances it would be wrong to proceed with the reception on Wednesday evening.
We regret the short notice but our industry needs to think long and hard about its collective behaviour and I am sure you understand this is not the time for such an event to take place.
Shame. It would have been a PR goldmine for mischief makers.

I bet they are having it somewhere else, privately.
Has there been any discernible reaction in the stockmarkets to the cancellation?
