Jonty Bloom:

Barclays manipulated Libor “like a crooked card game”.

I don’t see Bob Diamond suing for libel. So he would agree Barclays are a behaving like a bunch of crooks.

I hope the proceeds of crime act will be fully applied. To each and every one of them.

I’m not a lawyer but suspect the law on this is rather opaque. In any event, fraud trials tend to be very costly and often end in failure.

any or all of the following:
a) they will be
b) a more appropriate offence may be applicable
c) because they hold some dirt / have the right friends
d) the evidence is not sufficient to be confident of conviction
e) there is not a public interest case for the prosecution
f) the serious fraud office told George Osborne they could not investigate Libor fixing case fully, as due to cut backs there were not the resources to do, and so the evidence has not been gathered.
