Nadine’s astonishing attack on Cameron

In the Mail on Sunday today, Tory MP Nadine Dorries doesn’t so much as sharpen her knife as much as take out a chainsaw and start hacking effigies of Cameron and Osborne.
She writes (safe link):
Osborne, however, taxes the pasties eaten by working men and women, cuts the 50p tax band – sending out the message that we are the party of the rich – does nothing to reduce the crippling price of petrol and gives the IMF a further £10?billion bung of taxpayers’ money to bail out failing European countries.
Cameron and Osborne should be aware: Conservative MPs will not sleepwalk into losing their seats, in the way Labour MPs did in 2010.
…
According to the rules of the backbench 1922 Committee, in order for David Cameron’s position as leader to be challenged, the chairman of the committee needs to receive 46 signatures from Conservative MPs to signal a vote of no confidence.I would guess that those signatures are already coming in and will reach 46 by Christmas.
If there is a god – please make this happen.
She said the same to BBC 5 Live last night. Listen below.
And on the ‘posh boys’ comment.

Shes worried the Tories are seeming to be the party of the rich? Why the concerns now?
After all, in the Tory election manifesto it said they wanted to reduce tax for millionaires….this is not news to most people!
this is the woman who said if you can be on twitter you’re not really disabled. She’s hardly the bastion of fairness and integrity, but perhaps she smells a way to advance in her own party. I trust her like I could spit a rat.
The question is whether she’s a bit of a fantasist or not.
I suspect she might be.
SH: “If there is a god – please make this happen. ”
Are you sure about that? Who would be likely to replace the fallen Cameron?
Note that Osborne is parading the familiar excuse for election routs: There was nothing wrong with his budget or the government’s strategy for dealing with the mess left by Labour. It was the presentation.
Recall what Martin Wolf had to say in the FT about that budget: A Budget without economic significance

Is she going to defect to Labour? They might find her a seat…

I feel sure that Nadine Dorries would feel more at home in UKIP than with hairy lefties.
Dorries is trying to build the British version of the Tea Party.
“Dorries is trying to build the British version of the Tea Party.”
If so, let’s all here wish her good luck.
By news reports, Cameron has already said that his aspiration is to lead a Conservative led government after the next election. In other words, Cameron is not expecting the Conservatives to win that election with an outright majority.
I’m happy to see buckets of shit poured on the Teflon Toff, couldn’t care less where it comes from

“Are you sure about that? Who would be likely to replace the fallen Cameron?”
Good question Bob, anybody have any suggestions?
I’ve checked on Tory MPs and couldn’t find Pol Pot’s name anywhere, is he now in the Upper House?
Anybody for Ms Mensch?
Sometimes it’s worth reading what she actually says and whether this has traction with the majority of the public:
‘We need to replace the Lords reform bill with a bill for growth. One which focuses on freeing the flow of bank capital to business and we need to be introducing enterprise allowance schemes which enable young entrepreneurs to set up and get their business idea off the ground. It needs to propose measures to increase trade with the new and exciting emerging economies. Government needs to lead the way in encouraging small and medium baseness to look east and away from a failing Eurozone.
Gay marriage should be replaced with a commitment to giving the people an in/out referendum on Europe. We need to do that before the unions tell Ed Milliband to do it and shoot our fox, because if he does, we may as well all go home.’
If Cameron stood up and said this – most people would support it I suspect.

“Who would be likely to replace the fallen Cameron?”
As best I can tell, George Osborne is putting himself forward as the alternative leader and PM.
Dorries:
According to the rules of the backbench 1922 Committee, in order for David Cameron’s position as leader to be challenged, the chairman of the committee needs to receive 46 signatures from Conservative MPs to signal a vote of no confidence.
I would guess that those signatures are already coming in and will reach 46 by Christmas.
But there’s no obvious candidate to challenge Cameron on a ‘traditional’ Conservative platform.
Unless…
#runnadinerun?
The only serious challenger would be Davis, but I think it unlikely. More likely would be a stalking horse candidate. Probably not Dorries but Carswell isn’t out of the question.
