Save our pensions! Unite slams Unilever in video
Unilever, one of the worlds most successful and profitable companies, is trying to change the existing workers’ pension scheme to one that will see thousands of workers retire on a pension reduced by up to 40%.
Workers have been fighting to save their pensions, they held the first ever national strike at Unilever in December and are continuing with further strikes accross the UK this week.
To promote their cause, Unite the union have released this video:

This is great. UNITE should be using Uniliver and the Sparks disputes to bridge the gap between public and private sectors in these disputes.
The workers seem determined to win, and I hope that they do. They need to go out for longer than a day, and UNITE need to support them doing it.
Whats funny is how some papers, say, The Daily Mail, didn’t report Unilever cancelling Christmas. They are usually all over stories like that…
