Daily Mail blames strikers for injured student

The Daily Mail’s contempt for teachers knows no bounds.

In a news story today, the Daily Mail blames striking teachers for an student being injured.

How in the world is this the fault of striking teachers?

And this isn’t the first time either the Daily Mail has tried this trick.

In July the Mail tried to blame striking teachers for the death of a girl because a tree branch fell on her.

But the Mail faced a backlash from its own commenters then and was forced to change the article’s headline. It seems they haven’t learnt anything.

It is a risible claim, and just adds fuel to idea that the newspapers really don’t give much of a fuck about what goes into their papers, just so long as people buy em.

Perhaps the Mail should run a story about all of the injuries that didn’t happen in schools today on account of them being closed?

It doesn’t JUST do that. It also further justifies the existence of the commendable Facebook group called “The Daily Mail Really Are A Bunch Of Fucking Cunts”.

Don’t get too excited. If a particularly objectionable DM story gets commented on elsewhere, the DM comments get flooded with people who aren’t hard-right morons, creating the false impression that the DM readership is reasonable.

Never read anything so stupid in all my life. This was an experiment which had been carried out many times safely anyway. The teacher should have taken the day off to look after the child (I believe the 7-11 year olds were not in school because of the strike). The Head should never have allowed the child in school – they are quick enough to shout ‘Health and Safety’ about anything else!

I am betting a number of children have died and others permanently harmed due to the campaign by the Daily Mail on MMR.

Other health articles from the paper are clearly harmful.

Surely the meaning of the story is quite the reverse. Had this teacher been on strike, this tragic accident would not have happenned. Shouldn’t the Mail be condemning those who didn’t go on strike for the accident?
