Brilliant: US marine takes on NYPD #OWS

Yesterday, US Marine Corps Sgt. Shamar Thomas took on police from NYPD, shouting at them for their brutal tactics.

The whole video is great to watch, but the last minute is especially poignant.

What I see is a guy shouting and ranting at incredibly patient and self-disciplined police officers.

And falsely accusing them of “hurting unarmed civilians”, when no-one is being hurt, just politely being asked to move on to keep the sidewalks clear.

The poignant moment comes when one of the uniformed officers says he too was “in Iraq with you”.

Yep, Sergeant Loudmouth has no monopoly of honour or valour.

@1 Well people have been hurt by the police, that HIV+ bloke getting bloodied for example, so just because it doesn’t happen in that particular clip doesn’t mean it ain’t happening.

only reason the police take no action is because they are clearly being filmed and they don’t have their riot gear on.

not all police are thugs but a large proportion are.
