Murdo defends plans to disband Scottish Tories
David Cameron is facing the prospect of the end of the Scottish Conservative Party, reports the Telegraph today.
Late last night on BBC Radio 5Live, Murdo Fraser, who is favourite to become leader of the Scottish Conservative and Unionist Party, defended his plan to ballot members to wind up the party if he wins.

There isn’t much point in having two very similar parties and perhaps the politicos have woken up to the fact that in pursuing the “centre ground” they end up with a short term advantage but a long term disengagement problem.
The only question is who blinks first? The Conservatives becoming conservative or Labour drifting off to the lefty hinterlands.
I hear Murdo wants to re-name the Party. How about the Conservative and Unionist New Tartan Spartans?
The interesting question is who will represent die-hard Unionist Tories (the sort who were opposed to devolution)? There are still quite a few left.
