Watch: Robinhood tax crash bankers’ bash

Last week, the Robinhood Tax Campaign gate-crashed the annual ‘Square Mile summer party’.

At the party they interviewed bankers bragging about everything being back to business as usual and the government being able to do little to control the industry.

And, rather unsurprisingly, many bankers spend the night gambling and admiring Ferrari cars on display.

Watch

The Square Mile reported after:

The mood at this year’s bash was described by Sky News as “more sober than previous events”, and there was unquestionably less drunkenness on show and a distinct lack of nudity. However when six guests were asked whether they were having a good time, three replied, “what was the question?”, two kissed the questioner and one fell over.

Some things never change.

Yes some things never change, the unproductive big thinkers who do little beyond thinking, thinking how to spend other peoples money as usual. Instead of interfering and taxing the hell out of a system why don’t those with a cause to fund use the markets like every body else and “invest” to create funds?

Oh that would mean “doing” and would require “skill”, its much easier to just demand from and envy those who are doing well.

Hey Den

A bit bitter aren’t we? Are we a lobbyist by any chance as that sad and week arguement looks just like the stuff they come out with. Who says these thinkers (or indeed any) are unproductive? Got any proof or is that bitchy ad-hominem? As far as spending other peoples money is concerned isn’t that the whole live of the financial types? Who is proposing we tax something until it is no more? I don’t see anyone but oh of course making up bogey men or the conveniance is about as good as your type get. Too scared or unintelligent to actually take on an arguement without making things up now are we? And of course we can’t all use “markets” to solve everything as the financial markets don’t DO anything they just trade on what the rest of the economy does or has created. You know industry and other services right? This isn’t about envy and never has been but then again what else from a cowardly arguement did I expect but more made up non-existant problems.

Oh I see anyone who disagrees is either scared bitter or a lobbyist.Who says these thinkers are unproductive? Well tell me what have they added that’s actually productive? What do these types do other than demand the allocation of other peoples money and attack banks who have done no wrong as far as tax is concerned but these big thinkers do not even understand how tax works so believe they have? Barclays etc

“as far as spending other peoples money is concerned isn’t that the whole live of the financial types? ”

Fund managers manage other peoples money, what”s your point?

“Who is proposing we tax something until it is no more? I don’t see anyone but oh of course making up bogey men or the conveniance is about as good as your type get. Too scared or unintelligent to actually take on an arguement without making things up now are we?”

The long list of valid reasons against the tax have been repeated to death, you cant argue with some one who does not understand the issue at hand so why try.

“And of course we can’t all use “markets” to solve everything as the financial markets don’t DO anything they just trade on what the rest of the economy does or has created. You know industry and other services right? ”

Oh of course the institutions pull in a profit going into the hundreds of billions a year but a global warming fund, a poverty fund, a community fund any number of funds to finance desirable causes can not be created, as I said that would take time work and skill its much easier to stand on the side lines and demand you are given for free as it is your right while pointing out how unfair it is others are doing and gaining.

And yes I know about industry and services, do you know how many this tax puts at risk?

“This isn’t about envy and never has been but then again what else from a cowardly arguement did I expect but more made up non-existant problems.”

I would really like to believe its not about envy but when the fact they dared admire nice cars and have a gamble is bought up which has ZERO to do with the issue, and “oh things never change teh heh heh” its obvious…as for the cowards that would be those who are informed and pushing this tax, to coward to face the issues the biggest of which being this tax addresses not one issue in the markets in fact it just makes the issues that need addressing worse… but when your big glaring eyes are only focused on the money..who cares about the details eh?
