Watch: Warsi’s No2AV car-crash on Sky

For once the media is actually doing its job of questioning spurious claims made by the government.

This was recorded from earlier today on Sky News and features Adam Boulton questioning Baroness Sayeeda Warsi.

She really needs to learn more words other than ‘fundamental’ … To be fair, I think both sides of the argument have done themselves a disservice. YestoAV responded to the NotoAV camp with equally hysterical and ridiclous arguments. “Vote yes because Nick Griffin will vote no” …. So I’m a fascist if I vote no?

The adverts are just so beyond anything I would say is acceptable – from both sides! – and it’s insulting to the British public.

I hate people, granted, but I give most people the benefit of the doubt that they have more intelligence than a mosquito. This kind of nonsense ‘you’re a baby-killer if you vote yes’ ‘you’re a fascist if you vote no’ ‘voting yes is for losers’ deftly demonstrates exactly HOW out of touch politicians and those involved with political lobbying are. We need cold, hard facts, not playground bully tactics and wildly speculative opinions like “losers will win” … Completely bloody ridiculous statement because if a loser wins then surely by definition they ARE the winner anyway – the voting system merely changes how the winner is decided and justified.

Dear God. What is the world coming to when a dimwit like that speaks for a government. Is Cameron’s only criteria for ennoblement or position that someone has to be even dumber than he is? I am sick to death of tortured analogies about boxers and bars of chocolate, none of them apply because its an electoral process not a boxing match or a trip to the shops. I wish it was a boxing match that decided elections, I’d love to see the candidates pummel the crap out of each other until all are unconcious except the one standing who’s probably left with brain damage (an ideal qualification for this government). Perhaps not though, imagine Eric Pickles stripped to waist. Bet that’s put you off your hot-cross buns.

And how bad are things when Sky News has a good interview. This week saw Radio 4′s flagship Today programme descend to the floor with an interview with Cameron that was so soft it was like a mug of tepid Horlicks and John Humphry’s performance with strategically shaved giant rat in a suit Chris Grayling was deplorable. I’m surprised Humphry’s voice was audible as it seemed like he had Grayling’s cock in his mouth

“Every Vote has Equal Value”

I have voted in 6 general elections, in Sunderland South, Maidstone, Brighton Pavilion, Devizes, Dorset South.

At only 2 of these elections was there ever a chance to make any difference, whatever my political persuasion (I was shocked to find that most of Kennet District council’s Tory councillors are elected unopposed).

For Dorset South and Brighton Pavilion, to make this difference, I had to vote for my second or third choice.

I know people who dutifully vote every election in safe seats, and their vote has never made a difference.

How dare Warsi claim that this charade is what people fought wars for.

When on “Question Time” she dodged the accusation she was also as homophobic as he was (by Nick Griffin no less) due to her delusional Islamic based remarks of the past, I knew she was bad news.

Rubbish…she’s a token Muslim MP and that’s why she has a job.

I can understand the reasoning of wheeling her out as she’s the Tory Chair but ffs, a little bit of briefing and revision wouldn’t go astray. Ho hum…Dewsbury’s a very odd place, I sort of worked there for 6 years and oftentimes just sat there scratching my head thinking ‘did that really just happen?’ so being a politician there would stretch most rational individuals into contorted exclusion.

Baroness Warsi is such a poor advocate for government policy. This is not the first time she’s been torched. On any issue. To be fair though, I do not see how an elected candidate that captures 51% of the vote on the back of lots of second preferences is any more legitimate than a candidate who wins 33% and is elected to Westminster.

If only first votes counted, David Davis would be leader of the Tory party and Sayeeda Warsi wouldn’t be in the cabinet. If the Tories genuinely believe first preference is the only vote that should count, maybe they should change their own leadership election system. At the moment they are being massive hypocrites.

But it’s a fundamental right that we all have one vote; except when some landowners had a vote in each of the areas where they owned land. But apart from that every vote is equal; except where one area has a larger electorate than another yet each only elect one MP.

Apart from all that it’s fundamental!
