Animals explain why Alternative Vote better

Excellent video explaining how AV works.

I post it because it makes two additional points I’ve not seen anywhere else.

First, it shows why AV is logically a better system: it kills off the ‘spoiler effect’.

That is used to illustrate how AV increases political diversity and choice.

Not strictly accurate by fun all the same.

2. oldpolitics

While Australia has more diverse wildlife than the UK, I’m not clear that it has greater political diversity and choice, other than a slightly wider range of options for right-wing voters.

Pleasantly surprised by this. When I saw the headline I thought it was gonna be a bit twee and patronising, but this is actually the best thing I’ve seen on AV for awhile.

Perhaps you’re judging Australia by British standards? If right-wing views have more support and more diversity Down Under, you’d expect and want elections to reflect that.
