Watch: Ed pokes fun at Cameron’s photographer
Yesterday, the Daily Mirror revealed that David Cameron had put his personal photographer on the public payroll.
Andrew Parsons has been made a civil servant a year after we revealed how he staged shots of Mr Cameron in the Garden of Remembrance at Westminster Abbey. Mr Cameron hired the snapper to transform his image when he was leader of the Opposition and his wages were picked up by the Tories
So much for austerity cuts eh?
The story was picked up by Ed Miliband today in the House of Commons and used to make fun of Cameron. The reply was pathetic.

I thought you approved of public sector (non)-job creation??!!
Hairdresser next?
Cam: “He asks the questions because he hasn’t got any answers to anything…”
Err…no…he asks the questions because it’s prime minister’s questions. Perhaps Cameron thinks that means he gets to ask the questions??
Ah, Mr Milliband doing his job. Pointing out government misspending and misuse of resources (to maximum political effect, obviously).
And Mr Cameron showing that he is not quite the cutter of the state he would like to be seen to be.
If this sort of thing continues, Mr Cameron might have to actually act as he says he will. Can you imagine that – a Prime Minister being held to the expectations he has created?
The reply was indeed pathetic but then so was the question – surely there are more important matters to discuss. Let the media go after Cameron for the photographic idiocy.
PMQs is a farce. Questions should be worthwhile (which means no silly questions and no plants) and the PM should be forced to answer them.
A photographer for Cameron is a waste of money, just hand out stills of Iggle Piggle.
Oh dear. “He asks the questions because hasn’t got any answers to anything”. Er, no, Dave. He asks the questions because it’s, er, ‘Prime Minister’s questions’.
Another Cameron high-handed moment. He really doesn’t like being asked anything, does he?

Well, that’s my vote sorted then, unless Labour present their shadow cabinet as the Tombliboos.
Dave is getting shown up.
@ Richard

This seems to be the Tory line. Like much else Tory, it’s wrong of course.
The Tories make this appointment politically explosive because of all the fuss over spending cuts.
The Tories painted themselves into this corner, not Labour.
Ed was quite right to bring it up. Hypocrisy is always a major political issue and the voters should be made aware of it – especially when it is so glaring.
I hope Osborne doesn’t suddenly demand the taxpayer stumps up for the services of Trevor Watson or similar. When Osborne appears in Parliament he should be greeted from the Opposition benches with a resounding cry of “bring out the gimp”
