Where’s the rest of the speech? I missed the debate on telly.

“they have no predators, they laugh at the law” – MPs before the expenses scandal anyone?

“Not a fan of Chris Bryant but he’s great here.”

Although watching him on a screen on a screen on a screen has screwed with my head a bit.

Not a fan of Chris Bryant but he’s great here.

Indeed. If I’d been around earlier I’d have posted it

Just watched Tom Watson arguing with Kelvin Mackenzie on Newsnight. Watson was right about Mackenzie and Mackenzie was right about Watson.

After agreeing with both specimens I suppose I should go and have a wash.

Can I speak for many in the real world in saying STFU already, “joe public” do not give a shit about this!! And saying it’s as bad as expenses is frankly insulting, The country as a whole is under all sorts of threats yet all Labour appear to be going on about is hacking this and hacking that, did the fact that no one has been paying attention to the leadership race spur the hacks on to trying to find something else that might get some headlines? Because the only people who appear to care about his are those in the media and the parliament.

Watson is an enemy of press freedom. His journey towards Hugo Chavez continues.

Ah, if only we could return to the golden age of Watson and McBride.

I dream of those days.

If there is collusion between the Metropolitan police force and News International (as appears to be the case) then we need to know. If there is a criminal working in the heart of Government at 10 Downing Street then we need to know. Democracy is under threat if we sweep it under the carpet and say “joe public doesn’t care” (incidentally, if Joe Public is reading the Sun or the News of the World or the Times or watching Sky or Fox or ITN then I’m not surprised at the apathy).
I’m baffled as to how you can’t understand that this is actually a bit important, frankly.

@8

LOL! OK so I’ll hack your phone and listen to your private messages then, it’s ok it’s in the name of “freedom”. Why is it right-whingers only care about law’n'order when it’s in their favour? If Coulson was a Labour man P. Staines would be accusing him of being a paedoterrorist by now.

No of course it’s not OK.

But (cf @6) I’m not sure the charming Mr Watson is the best person to make that case!

Hypocritical Labour, don’t recall Watson jumping up and down when this first came out.

As for the police feeding the redtops stories, that’s bad but members of the armed Forces feeding the Guardian information about Afghanistan via wikileaks thats good, more hypocrisy.
