Because the story about Gordon Brown being a paranoid lunatic with violent tendencies was entirely made up by Iain Dale and Paul Stanies. Any subsequent corroborating evidence (in, for example, Mandelson’s memoirs, Mullin’s diaries etc) are part of a vast conspiracy involving the Foreign Office, the Chinese and the Tories.

It’s also quite touching how quick you still are to defend Gordon “it’s all a conspiracy between the Foreign Office, the Tories and the Chinese” Brown from any suggestion that he’s a couple of gunmen short of a posse.
