Oh no, the EU is now after our dead!

by Sunny Hundal

Last week the Daily Express ran a story with this headline: EU’s plan to liquify corpses and pour them down the drain.

OMG! They plan to do what???

The next day a letter duly appeared in the Express expressing horror:

I felt sick to my stomach when reading the article “EU’s plan to liquefy corpses and pour them down the drain” (July 8).

If this abhorrent act is to become law under EU ruling I hope David Cameron will be strong enough to say this would never be allowed in our country.

You know where this is going already don’t you?

In fact it was a plan by the… *drumroll* Flemish Association of Undertakers, in Belgium.

The Daily Express journalist presumably couldn’t contain their excitement at such a brilliant story to bother check facts.

The Daily Express have since taken the story off their website, without posting any explanation. Another Euromyth “liquidated”.

Worryingly, Richard Desmond, pornographer and owner of the Daily Express, is the leading bidder to buy Channel 5.

You really couldn’t make this up…

Richard Desmond, who owns the Daily Express, is currently making a bid to own Channel 5 and he will likely succeed.

“I’ve got so much money it’s ridiculous,” he says. “I know exactly what I want and exactly what I’m going to do.”

It seems unlikely he got to that position because his publications didn’t sell well.

During his stint as Labour Party chairman in 2002, Dr John Reid was asked about the generous donation to the Labour Party by Paul Desmond, who had been a commercially successful publisher of pornographic magazines. Dr Reid replied:

“If you are asking if we are going to sit in moral judgment, in political judgment, on those who wish to contribute to the Labour party, then the answer to that is no.”

Which about says it all.

Hm, the latest ABCs show that the Sexpress has had the biggest decline in readers [of tabloids] over the past year or so… premature to celebrate but at least some people are seeing through the porn baron’s bullshit.

And I guess it’s a plus that they removed this lying story from their site: if only they did the same with all their racist/sexist/generally crap articles the world would be a happier place.

Now you really can’t expect the Express to admit they made a mistake can you? So now there will be people going to their graves thinking this story is true.
Job done.

@macuser_e7

Worryingly, really?

I don’t think i’ve even watched that channel since they stopped showing the soft-core porn. (I didnt have internet as a kid).

Though I do enjoy the sheer gullibility of anyone who reads the Express. It is to the Mail what Mini-Me is to Dr Evil.
