Tom Watson calls Gove a “miserable pipsqueak”
Watch this highly amusing exchange from yesterday during Michael Gove’s apology to the House of Commons.
Tom Watson MP calls him “a miserable pipsqueak” and is told off by Speaker Bercow.
(a good quality video also hosted by Dave Naylor)
Political Scrapbook provides the transcript:
He can embarrass himself; he can disgrace his party; but what is intolerable is that he has cynically raised the hopes of hundreds and thousands of families. You’re a miserable pipsqueak of a man, Gove!
Bravo Tom Watson!

Proper video would be nice, although on some occasions, not many, but I think considering the truth of the statement, and the lesson that can be learned by the child involved… “Ssssssssshhhhhhhhh” is an entirely appropriate form of parenting, and in my eyes, to hear a statement from Tom Watson drenched in honesty and insight.
“Cloaca” would’ve been better though.
There’s a proper video here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kqtANltepC4 , but unfortunately the person adding it seems to be pro-Gove! I tried to add my comment to YouTube, but it doesn’t seem to be playing nicely today:
“Rather than pour scorn on Tom Watson, perhaps people might like to find out a bit about him. He led opposition to the Digital Economy Bill in the last Parliament (the one that gives the Government the power to cut-off internet connections) and continues to campaign for its abolition. Perhaps this is of interest to YouTube users? See his page here http://www.tom-watson.co.uk/digital-pledges/ or follow him on Twitter http://twitter.com/tom_watson ”
Michael Gove, on the other hand, seems to want children to sit in falling down classrooms learning the names of the Kinds and Queens of England.
I’ve got an embeddable version if you want it. Just shout
If people carry on attacking him will he develop an Archie Bunker mentality?
Bravo Tom Watson!
Indeed.
As one of the coup plotters behind Brown’s coronation, and the success that proved, he is my hero!
That’s not amusing; it’s pathetic and childish.
Brilliant. But not quite as good as this (WARNING: contains most unparliamentary language) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YD-xxoQwOo4
Video improved…
but what I Want to know is – what did Tom Watson say when the video was silenced out?
“Brilliant. But not quite as good as this ”
Yep. That was pretty much the best thing ever.

Why post on a left of centre site with inane and unproductive comments.
I haven’t much time for Watson apart but he spot on about Gove.
Unlike Cameron , who quite like able, Gove is one of those individuals who just gets on your tits.
I don’t know if it is his high pitch screech of a voice or his habit of pulling that self satisfied scowl after he makes a point. Also he is man who is a friend of Nick Cohen and Martin Kettle. They all seem to have the same views on every issue.
Tom Watson is pro Ed Balls for Labour’s Leader, looks like the most effective opponents of HM Miserable Runt of a Government are.
The most striking thing about Michael Gove is his physical resemblance to Archie Andrews. The second most striking thing is his intellectual resemblance to a ventriloquist’s dummy. Kudos to Watson in this case.
While congratulating a fat bully for calling someone else a pipsqueak is of course the very opposite of inanity!
Tom Watson is a fat useless f***.
Ahhh, satire!
It does make me chuckle when we talk about politicians and bullying.
Brown is called a bully because of behaviour towards his colleagues.
Thatcher is called strong and yet she bullied her colleagues.
Who is the rude , fat guy from a discredited party to debase parliament by calling someone a ” pip squeak ” ?
