Hoorah for @BevaniteEllie!

I couldn’t really let this one pass.

The Daily Mail have run a hatchet job on Bevanite Ellie!

How exciting, you know you’ve made it when the lowest scum in the land take a disliking to you. Must be doing something right.

PS Have you ever noticed that Guido Fawkes‘ site looks a lot like the Daily Mail these days? Guido Fawkes, enforcer of centralism and enemy of dissenting thoughts… Oh no wait, defender of freedom, isn’t it?

PSS Seriously? Larah? Were the sub editors too flecked with spittle and blinded by the up skirt to reread their captions?

PPPS Honestly, look at your keyboard. L and S are miles apart. It took someone trying really hard to fuck this one up.

Sunny adds:
That Tory bloggers jumped on the story once CCHQ researchers dug up the story was rather predictable. But it’s always amusing to watch the stupidity in action.
Here is Harry Cole, who was used by the Daily Mail to put the boot in:

So why the sudden change of tune, has someone realised she could carve a little career out as rat staying on the sinking ship?

Talking of rats reminded of me of this story a few years back:

In a statement released on Saturday, Mr Cole apologised for misleading voters, admitting to “having influence on its direction” and that some may see it “as a campaign tool.” In the statement, he claimed to have worked with the people behind EUSAless “in the past,” however, after being presented with claims by The Journal, he admitted that current members of his campaign team were writing the blog.

On more than one occasion, EUSAless has attempted to appear independent of the Harry Cole campaign. In an entry dated 12 December 2007, it denies suggestions that Mr Cole was involved with the blog, while another post, dated 5 February 2008, attempts to imply that Mr Sloan also had no involvement.

Can’t wait for the day Cole appears alongside Cameron. How’s that campaign to support Adeela Shafiq going? Has she thanked you for all that money yet?

And lastly, does Guido Fawkes have permission to use the protected pictures from Facebook on his blog? I suspect not.

So why the sudden change of tune, has someone realised she could carve a little career out as rat staying on the sinking ship?

Ms Bevanite may well be a hack, but two years is “sudden“? Is Cole on speed, or what?

Someone should write a post warning about blogs that come back to bite you in the arse, and how that shouldn’t stop you from saying what you think.

Oh, wait! I already did!

I disliked the way she was targeted but the tone of this post is little better – lowest scum in the land etc.

TBH – I doubt Ellie’s career is dead. These sorts of hatchet jobs matter much more in the US than here really.

@3 Other terms for the Daily Mail are welcome, but I have few qualms about using such unequivocal phrasing for a paper so thoroughly awful.

Tory Bear isn’t the lowest scum on the land if you think I may be referring to him, I reserve that pedestal for the Daily Mail. Occasionally the Daily Express gets a shoe in as well.

I hope the career of the racist homophobic Harry Cole is dead soon

Did anyone else notice that Ellie’s surname changes from Gellard to Gerrard by the end of the Mail article.

@Andreas, I believe there were seven typos in the article, if I’m not mistaken, including one in the headline.

If urban dictionary need an example of a “rushed hatchet job” we got it.

Won’t do her any harm. It’s almost a rite of passage these days.

ooooo a dreadful error is Larah

I can’t believe you lefty-liberals have the temerity to accuse the Daily bloody Mail of a rushed hatchet job, seriously, when are you guys going to get off the back of a fine newspaper and start dealing with real stories like the Marxist Jew conspiracy that is ruining the UK?

Who she must be feared to get this type of attention! But seriously, two years is some time and people can change their mind. Two years ago I was adamant that Labour should dump Brown, now I think they should keep him (at least until the election is done with) does that make me a flip flopper or turn coat? No, political viewpoints shift, evolve and move on as the reality changes in which you form such views.

It’s amusing you have to even point out something so obvious but there you go…

Daily Mail and pasty-faced right-wing trolls don’t like women. Film at eleven.

6 – put up or shut up.

As the rest of it. Yawn.

Harry Cole AKA Tory Bear throws down a gauntlet that he’s too fat to actually pick up.

She’s a cutie, but she’s a student, and therefore has a wonderful theoretical knowledge of politics and life, but no clue of reality. Anyone who has lived under Labour since 97 knows they have been far from true to the ideals that onced created the party. To hear ‘socialists’ or ‘left wingers’ call for Labour’s re-election sickens me. At least have the sense to vote Lib Dem.

I’m all for the idea of people who are both liberal and left of centre finding some form of accomodation with Labour, but this girl pleasant as I’m sure she may be is a shill; everything’s brilliant under labour, no complaints to make. She’s a perfect example of everything which is WRONG and BROKEN about the Labour party (it’s illiberalism, it’s denialism, it’s chronic mendacity, it’s technocratic stats obsession). Shame on you for supporting her. Seriously.

Well, if nothing else and judging by some of the vengeful, hyperbolic comments here, she’s managed to hit a nerve with a few people who are perhaps reading far too much into it.

No-one has really explained why someone thought that having Mr Brown introduced by Ms Gellard was a good idea anyway. The BevaniteEllie twitter tag is noted for being blindly partisan and is hardly influential, so it must have been someone in Labour decided they needed someone either young and/or attractive for this role. Shouldn’t have been hard to find someone who doesn’t make so many enemies with their statements and who hasn’t published comments against Mr Brown, but that would require looking outside the trusted inner circle?

Hardly a big issue, but this looks like a political owngoal (in a match with an eventual scoreline along the 350-250 line) which could have been avoided.

I’m not sure it’s a political own goal because most people don’t really care about it.

The Fail was merely trying to neutralise the threat to Sam-Cam as the owner of the best feet in UK politics.

Daniel,

Surely neither Samantha Cameron nor Ellie Gellard are entitled to that title, as neither are actually elected or candidates?

Anyway, thanks for the tip – I’ll have to look.

Tell the Daily Fail mate, they’re the ones running with it.
