Top 10 ways Cameron has made an arse of himself

Following my recently popular Top 10 Tory ‘out of touch’ gaffes, I thought I would follow it up with a focus on the golden boy David Cameron.

So here is an incomplete list:

10. Not knowing how many houses he’s got, only a while after John McCain made the same mistake.

9. Being photographed by Dave Osler.

8. Getting embroiled in a doctored photo fiasco in relation to some now embarrassing pictures of him being an arrogant-looking git at university.

7. Pretending he’s all green on his bike, when it’s total bollox.

6. Pretending he’s all green, in the Arctic, having flown there on a big jet for photo opportunities.

5. Being racist towards Germans with a faux ‘Nazi’ accent, in just the same way you’d expect Prince Bloody Philip to do.

4. Getting new post-Phillip Blond intellectual gurus Taleb and Thaler all mixed up in his desperation to look up to date with the latest shallow thinking.

3. Talking about how ‘shameful’ it is to victimize lone parents despite, being fully in support of that approach.

2. Saying the UK might default on its debt, which would be utterly irresponsible and mean that no one would lend us any more money, if he was at all believable. Fortunately, he’s not.

1. Saying the recession was because of ‘big government’ and not mentioning banks and things at all, and trying to look serious while doing so.

Do you have any to add?

Linking his party to a bunch of racists, homophobes and nazi supporters because he’s too stupid to realise how important alliances with other European countries are.

Thinking that William Hague is ever going to be a serious politician.

Destroying any chance of a meaningful alliance with the US (see above)

Could we also have a top 1000 for Gordon Brown..i know it wont scratch the surface but in the interests of a balanced view?

And today’s pointless ad hominem attack is…

Is that it?
No wonder people prefer him to Brown!

Obviously it’s better to be an arse than a certifiable lunatic or a inconsequential weathervane.

CON 40%, LAB 23%, LDEM 20%
CON 44%(-1), LAB 27%(+1), LDEM 18%(nc)
CON 43%(+7), LAB 26%(+2), LDEM 19%(-6).

(Just in case it had passed your notice).

Whatabout! Whatabout! Whatabout!

AND WE’RE GOING TO WIN ANYWAY!

(Hush now little Tories, don’t engage in any critical reflection as to whether there may be more to this than whether two wrongs make a right, and whether just because Dave is leader of your party, maybe it doesn’t follow that he’ll be a good Prime Minister….just go to sleep. There there.)

That’s right – although DHG thinks I have a fawning attitude to the boy king, his principal attraction is that he is not GB.

Which doesn’t mean that this kind of article isn’t somewhat pathetic, as are the “Tories poll lead down 5 point in 5 minutes” news items.

Still, if it makes people feel better as they face the inevitable (and even to me unattractive)…

The original version of this, at my place, makes it clear that this is a light-hearted riposte (or pathetic, if you prefer, cjcjc, I’m not fussed) to the boy Dale’s somewhat cumbersome top 10 on Brown yesterday.

Sunny had far too much blogger integrity to let such a vicious attack on a fellow blogger pass, so edited it out. I, on the other hand, face no such impediment.

Anyway, Paul S is right. There is some substance behind the frivolity, this being that Cameron’s focus is on style rather substance, and it’s perfectly reasonable to highlight that. Ta, Paul S (and Chris). The rest of you can bugger off, I’ve got spreadsheets to attend to in a very serious way.

“Cumbersome” = “more substantive” ?!

And since when has Sunny hesitated in attacking Dale?

Still, I agree with you that Brown is indefensible, and that your best hope is to attack the boy king on his weakest front…

10. Dick the Prick

I thought that photo of him looking gimpy was cool

11. Col. Richard Hindrance (Mrs.)

My favourite description of Cameron is that of Armando Iannucci: “A bum-faced southern ponce, with a tiny washer for a mouth.”

Also, Tories ought to be less sensitive – it’s just a bit of fun! God, you’re all so po-faced and PC…etc etc etc.

“The boy-king?” Now I’ve heard everything. Given his pallor in Paul’s No.9, I think “the wan king” might be more apt…

‘Linking his party to a bunch of racists, homophobes and nazi supporters because he’s too stupid to realise how important alliances with other European countries are’.

But surely here he is only following what the Labour party itself has done?

Having no policies?

“1. Saying the recession was because of ‘big government’ and not mentioning banks and things at all, and trying to look serious while doing so.”

Funny, Gordon Brown’s list is topped off with

“1. Saying the recession was because of America and bankers, not mentioning ‘big government’ or failed regulation at all, and trying to look credible while doing so”.

Still, I suppose at 17pts down you might as well try any attack you can.

Still, I suppose at 17pts down you might as well try any attack you can.

You right-whingers get needled easily don’t you?

People on here, bandying words about the BNP being Nazi’s. It is quite obvious that those same people know nothing about the Nazi’s, or the Geheimstatpolitzei.
When did the BNP murder thousands of any people? When did the BNP build ovens for mass executions? When did the BNP beat up, and harass thousands of people on the streets? How many foreign shopkeepers had their premises burnt to the ground, and the owners murdered by the BNP? You may say, of course, that the BNP ‘will’ use those methods, but there again, so may the other parties; it is pure conjecture not fact. Now scoot off, and find the answers, I will be waiting, but I fear it will be a long, long, wait!
