Watch: White House keeps attacking Fox News

by Chris Barnyard

Last week US media-land erupted when the White House seemed to “declare war” on Fox News by challenging its legitimacy as a news operation.

Many assumed the fracas was just a one-off and the White House was unlikely to press the point any further. Wrong.

Today on various cable news channels White House staffers continued their assault on Fox News.

Both David Axelrod and Rahm Emanuel said they were concerned other news organizations did not follow Fox’s hyper-partisan approach to covering news.

Axelrod said the White House would continue to have its officials appear on Fox, but that their approach to the network is that “it’s not really news”:

Michael Tomasky recently wrote on the Guardian that the White House war with Fox News was winnable.

Fox News richly deserves to be attacked.

They aren’t a source of trust-worthy news. They lie and mislead – by omission or by comission – all day, every day on political matters.

Rupert Murdoch shuold be in jail for abusing freedom of speech the way he has with Fox News.

Freedom of speech isn’t the freedom to lie constantly for profit. Anywhere else it’s called fraud and prosecuted.

Steve, I noticed you did not provide any facts to back up your claims that Rupert Murdoch abuses our First Amendment. While you do your research from biased media sites, you may also want to look up how many retractions CNN has had to publish in the last year alone.

Fox is one of the only news channels that critically analyzes what’s happening in politics. I guarantee you that on any given day, Fox will have different stories than CNN, and CNN’s story will have a negative slant on anything related to the military, but will champion Obama and his czars regardless of what the story is. Why do you think this is? Fox reports fact and does not have an agenda like CNN does. If you don’t believe me, go to youtube and google the debate between Wayne Lapierre and CNN.

I guarantee you that on any given day, Fox will have different stories than CNN

Indeed they will – usually because nobody else on Earth would touch the fork-tongued wingnut drivel these transparent hucksters report to their credulous audience of cowardly, snake-handling pinheads.

CNN’s output is riddled with glaring faults, but the idea that it’s in some way the equivalent of or even inferior to FOX News is fucking hilarious. FOX can barely be bothered to pretend it’s anything other than a slapstick propaganda channel for whining, gullible losers and club-footed cretins.

Plus, I have to note the irony of any person defending FOX with complaints about other media sources’ bias. I say ironically, because without the protection of the left wingers’ dreaded political correctness to shield them from cruel insult, such people would find they couldn’t open their mouths without prompting everyone present to stick their tongues behind their lower lips, slap the backs of their hands together and bellow things like Durrr, I’m Bob… CNN sucks and I like FOX.

I’m with Flying Rodent on this Bob, your comment leaves little to be desired and in turn you provide us with the example of how the myth of FAUX NEWS actually providing news is swallowed by some and clearly by you.

*sigh*

Reply to Bob:

No other media outlet told me Fox are liars. I was able to see that clearly for myself by watching them. Their coverage of the leadup to the invasion of Iraq and their constant misrepresentation of views and values that don’t align with extremist conservative views was all the proof i needed they are not a news source to be trusted.

No one else told me that. Fox News told me that. Every day.

As for Murdoch, Fox couldn’t tell lies every day for years without his consent. The reality is, they do it BECAUSE that’s what he wants. Murdoch is well known around the world for using his media to mislead the public. Fox news is just one more example.

I consider using one’s media outlet to lie to the public to be an abuse of free speech. You may disagree…..and you’d be lining up with the liars and fraudsters.
