Photos from Climate Camp London
Climate Camp came to the capital today, starting for one week in east London’s Blackheath.
Here are some pics I took.

Wow – they’re exciting – news photographer of the year!
Are you camping – or just twittering?
PS hope our climate bet is still on…
What’s the fence been put up for?
They do seem to be rather middle class. Maybe it’s for their protection.
Staging it on Blackheath seems like a bit of a cop out after all the fuss in the last week.
I’m sure the police will leave it pretty much alone.
“They do seem to be rather middle class.”
So what?
I’m pleased to see such a civilised-looking bunch, presumably there was minimal litter after they left?
Nine photos and no juggler? Are you sure you were at the right place?
Staging it on Blackheath seems like a bit of a cop out after all the fuss in the last week.
And no doubt if it were somewhere more controversial some of you would be criticising them for deliberately engineering trouble
Why don’t you go cjcjcjcjcjcjcjc and take some bloody photos?
Sunny – when you posted yesterday that you were “off to climate camp” I thought you were actually taking part, not just twittering for the Guardian and taking photos (dull photos too..though that’s not your fault) – or maybe you are camping out?
(Let’s get that bet back on.)
Daniel piss off – the photos are dull, as would mine be…
No, Blackheath is a perfectly good site for a camp like that. I’m sure that the police are very pleased and will only need to have a few officers down there .
If they’d said it was going to be Blackheath a week ago, I suppose there wouldn’t have been the media attention.
I am slightly disappointed it’s not somewhere like St Jame’s Park. That would have been a lot more fun.
I’m off to catch a train to Blackheath right now to see what it’s like.
I reckon there could be quite a nice atmosphere in the village this evening. There’s a couple of nice pubs there where you can sit outside and I reckon the climate campers will find they’re quite welcome there.
Greenwich/Blackheath is a middle-class oasis surrounded by urban wastelands…I’m not sure that has much relevance but it always seems far too much trouble to get there

Glad you have accepted that you’re shit at photography…Now to get you to confess to general shitness…
I will if you will
Poor baby Daniel – you absolutely love to dish it out don’t you, but you can’t take it…
Lovely.

You didn’t give owt to take youth and I bet that’s not the first time you’ve heard that.
BYE!
I’m not sure exactly what that means, but as I know you can’t bear not to have the last word, I’m sure you’ll tell me.
Cool.
It’s a sexual thing.
I wonder who will have to clear up the unenviromentally friendly mess they will leave behind
They cleaned up after themselves I believe.
Of course they will. That’s a golden rule to the climate campers.
I bet they’re even keeping the bits of turf they dug out where they’ve made their open fires. I saw then cutting a couple of square feet of turf out in a few places, and when they’ve gone you’ll hardly know they’d been there. They respect the heath (and it’s Wat Tyler history and it being common land).
