The American Right are total fucking scum.

There was that nutter who shouted out “Get your government hands off my Medicare!” – Medicare IS government-run!

FFS. We don’t ration healthcare on the basis of pay, but on need.

That is good. I don’t care what you call it. We aren’t sick mercenaries who will deny healthcare for people who can’t pay.

Also, can’t we find someone slightly more articulate than Darzi to defend us?

I’m with Klug, the US Right are bastards.

I think the way in which they have slagged off the NHS (and other social forms of health provision elsewhere) has internationalised this issue.

And I can’t help but feel that a defeat of the US Right on this issue will be a victory for everyone, everywhere who believes in progressive and humane social policies.

Daniel Hannan IS a national disgrace. He does though articulate the true beliefs of many Conservatives and so does well to expose them, however much Cameron would like to wish it not the case.

Waiting lists are a result of under investment in Healthcare, not the system of delivery. Even after a decade of Labour investment, we lag behind, in GDP terms, civilised societies. If we contributed as much as america per head, we would have the finest service in the world.

Investment has shown what can be done. Healthcare and the Health of the nation in 2009 is unrecognisable to 1997.
