Sunny, could I propose a three month moratorium on articles that simply bash the Daily Mail?

Whilst Claude presents a reasonable argument that WAGs are both elevated and disparaged by the Mail, the same criticism can be applied to the broadsheets. I suspect that there is an interesting back story to this tragedy — about model agencies providing pimp books of possible dates to footballers or about night club admission policies — but this post doesn’t get close to it.

There may be hypocrisy at the broadsheets but they’re not as popular.

Don’t agree with Charlieman at all, love stuff like this, exposing the awful quality of popular media outlets.

I don’t know if this is relevant but a while back my mate’s daughter and her friends (all attractive young ladies) were ‘hit on’ by a couple of premier league players in a night club in Newcastle. When they were told that neither their company nor their drinks were welcome the players apparently complained to the management, because the young women were told to leave the club for not being nice to the stars.

Admittedly, one of them, when asked why she didn’t want a drink from one particular player replied, ‘Because you’re a racist thug.’

Of course, Newcastle is now free from the curse of premiership players…

[4] Well I don’t suppose any of us were suprrised that Steven Gerrard was acquitted, after all Liverpool (and I suspect Newcastle) likes its sporting heroes to be above the law.

And across the pond wasn’t a young woman beaten up for refusing to sleep with Mike Tyson?

Seriously though, Don, if you ran a club wouldn’t you throw out a customer who insulted another one whose presence was a major selling point for your dive in the first place?

Yes but it shouldn’t be that way Mike.

[6] Which bit of my comment are you referring to, Daniel?

The last bit about keeping nobheads in a club and dumping the punters out on the street.

9. Mike Killingworth

That’s how capitalism works, Daniel.

Nah, that’s how some humans work.

11. Mike Killingworth

It could be both, of course.

Yeah it could but enough of blaming the economic framework we live in, people need to take responsibility for thier actions, in this case, the club owner being a bit of a cunt and not doing the right thing.

I’m sure many decent club owners would kick the footballers out on their arse.
