These people can’t change. We need to get honest people in charge of policing. Meanwhile, knowing how our police officers are in the habit of lying, how can we believe in any conviction by a British court made on the evidence of police officers?

It’s easy to get sidetracked by the financial collapse and dirtyness of our domestic politics – which, important though they are, can suck up attention from other things. Policing the police is the sort of nuts and bolts politics, activism citizenship that is essential to the basic functioning of a society.

I’ve been meaning to write an article myself but I’m going to start the process here, because I think that your project and these guys could be no end of use to each other.

It is fairly clear that the UK is not a police state. The question PSUK are interested in asking, and keeping an active watch on, is how far from it we are and whether we’re getting worse or better. The more eyes and contributors it has, the more effective a monitoring community we’ll make. I’m a contributor but not an editor there.
