Pilger stays at New Statesman

Contrary to a report in the Media Guardian earlier this week, John Pilger will stay at New Statesman magazine.

A spokesperson told Liberal Conspiracy today he is “still very much a valued contributor” and will remain an ongoing columnist. The Guardian has since issued a correction. The contract was “ongoing”.

And what about reports it had not yet recognised the NUJ? “The talks are still ongoing. It is unfortunate that media reports said we weren’t going to recognise the union. But these things take time.”
