The media give people what they want to read, or hear. The uncomfortable truth is, many people are far more interested in John Sergeant quitting Strictly Come Dancing than actual issues, like climate change. I mean, I'd happily read a newspaper which reported on issues like climate change on a regular basis, but sadly, a newspaper that did that would just go out of business. Many people in this country are far too stupid and lazy to care about anything, and the media can't help that. Newspapers have to sell.
