Another early one today: why is it that I’m getting up earlier after my exams have finished? Something is wrong.
Morgan Tsvangirai - explains why he withdrew from the Zimbabwean presidential run-off.
Splintered Sunrise – doesn’t agree.
Shan Oakes - And, in Howden and Haltemprice, the real civil libertarian has stood up. Excellent.
Stumbling and Mumbling - Brown needs to realise that equality of opportunity requires some equality of resources. Not that socialists haven’t said that all along, no…
The Daily (Maybe) - considers behind-the-scenes white collar hanky panky. With money, of course, with money…
Philobiblon - hosts the latest Carnival of Feminists.
Bad Science - Second generation fundamentalist loon vs. well-respected biologist: rounds 1,2 3 and knockout.
Tips to the usual address.

It’s such a shame. Shan looks good on paper but…I mean, I dunno…the green party are against GM food and you know…on this single issue election even issues like their policy on food mean that I’m aggrieved to lend her my voice. She ticks 95% of the boxes but that isn’t good enough really is it?
Shan ticks 95% of boxes – and how many, precisely, does DD tick? 1, perhaps, and ruins that by still supporting 28 Days and having terrible civil libertarian credentials. On the issues Davis himself wants to fight the campaign on, I’d have though the choice was clear…
With regards the first link, I appear to have made a mistake: http://www.sokwanele.com/thisiszimbabwe/archives/1109
I was being facetious, obviously. I’m sure if you look at Shan from a different perspective than your own she’s not the perfect candidate. This is my point, no-one is perfect to everyone. Let’s hope that th pro-42 day lobby don’t now see this opportunity to field a strong candidate and profit from the split field that would develop.
Shouldn’t the first headline be:
“Morgan Tsvangirai denies writing Guardian article attributed to him”.
From the article you link:
“An article that appeared in my name, published in the Guardian yesterday, does not reflect my position or opinions regarding solutions to the Zimbabwean crisis.
Although the Guardian was given assurances from credible sources that I had approved the article this was not the case”
