Boris advisor forced to quit
A political adviser to Boris Johnson has resigned after making a racist remark. Responding to a claim that some black people might leave the UK if Mr Johnson became mayor, James McGrath said: “Let them go if they don’t like it here.” More on Dave Hill.

1. it’s not a racist remark
2. are you seriously suggesting that people who don’t like living in Britain should be preventing from leaving? If not, you’ve in agreement with McGrath
It’s true. It wasn’t a racist remark. Reports suggest that Boris resisted firing him but was told otherwise by Cameron and so rolled over.
My points ::
1 – interesting that the citizen journo who did the interview welcomed the resignation, makes me think about the tone of the interview
2 – I don’t think that the remarks were necessarily racist
3 – If you know anything about rightwing Aussie politics, you may be wary about defending McGrath
The speed at which he was gone was telling, the preemptive strike against a non existent backlash speaks volumes…
