Casting the net – Nails and Pot Noodles

Welcome to our daily review of blogs. As always, please feel free to share your own recommendations in the comments.

Politico – If a well-run campaign is a test of managerial competence, Hillary flunked.
e8voice – The PoliticsHome panel of “experts” are wrong. Framing Ken as a competent CEO will unravel
Left of Centrist – Could the US elect a crazy to the White House? (Hint: they’ve done it before)
Obsolete – It appears I’m alone in enjoying Ruth Fowler’s controversial piece yesterday. septicisle is particularly sardonic.
donpaskini – It’s a common misconception that young childless workers will be worse off for the budget.
Alix Mortimer - Needs nails, will get nostalgic.
The Golden Strawberry – A £30 Pot Noodle. Sold in Harrods. No, seriously.

Well I liked Ruth’s entry as well, we can take them all on!

I quite liked it myself, I thought it was quite well written and I can certainly see things I recognise in the cartoon. On the other hand, it’s a pretty obvious bit of attention seeking, but that’s opinion journalism for you, isn’t it?

tsk tsk! and you call yourself lefties??

Can I also recommend this rather marvellous angry-London-Lib-Dem piece:

http://www.libdemvoice.org/opinion-why-i-will-be-giving-livingstone-my-second-choice-and-why-it-grates-2511.html

Says it all. And there’s a priceless example of Labour unselfawareness in the comments.

It was certainly well-written and amusing – just not in the slightest bit accurate on a wide scale. WoolyMindedLiberal put it best in the comments:

“Shock! Horror!

White private school girl feels more comfortable with fellow white private school types in the Tory Party who look and sound just like her!

Who could possibly have guessed?

Stop the Press!!

Tell everyone!!!

Whatever next? Will bears be discovered defecating in the woods or will we learn that the Pope is a Nazi?”

The only thing wrong with Ruth Fowler’s piece was that she spent so much effort attacking ‘liberals’ when she clearly meant to write ‘cunts’. Swap the words around and it all makes perfect sense.

“she spent so much effort attacking ‘liberals’ when she clearly meant to write ‘cunts’.”

I love you! :-D

Ahem.
