Welcome to Casting the net, Liberal Conspiracy’s daily web review. As always, please feel free to share your own recommendations in the comments
Highlights
anticant – Weasel words
Political debate is poisoned by its own forum: a group who eschew intellectual debate in favour of ideology-based hostility and the use of “weasel words”.
Gary Younge/CiF – Obama must build a movement to take him beyond the White House
When (if?) in office, Obama must nourish his grassroots base, or all he has done will be undone.

Which party speaks for the rational small-state liberal?
Bloggerheads – Let’s probe some padded expenses!
Tom Watson is under fire from a certain litigiously-inclined, pseudo-libertarian blogger. Tim Ireland points out that these charges are not supported by evidence, and nor do they represent any wrongdoing.

Just want to second your linking to the piece on Mind the Gap which I was very impressed with when I read it, and is certainly much less ranty than my piece LOL
“The Gob is angry. Oh, and she wants everyone to have good sex.”
So no change from her normal state of existence then?

You could do something about the second bit…
O:-)
Get a room, you two.

Got one. In it. He’s just let the dogs in, and the Archers just started.

The choice and quality of the weekend’s (and Monday AM) blogging was quite refreshing (usually the blogosphere goes to sleep). But alongside the longer, serious pieces, I like to throw in some shorter and punchier titbits!
Also, the “Elsewhere” section in no way means lesser posts.
Sometimes they’re simply too highbrow and insightful for my simple mind to condense into a pithy line or two!
Actually, I tend to go for the “elsewhere” section first, now I’m used to your style of posting. It tends to be broader ranging than the top bit.
tygerland – excellent – I am in more or less the same camp
