As The Times sketch said this morning:
"They were put out of their misery by the arrival of Vince Cable, acting leader, economist and ballroom dancer supreme. He was met with thunderous applause. Everyone loves him. Indeed, they love him so much that they are replacing him with someone worse."

As Clegg has risen, so will he sink: without trace.

Well only time will tell on that, but congratulations on making a "can't fail" statement so soon, after all you're right if you're right, and everythings good if you're wrong! ;)

At the end of the day you get what you deserve from the media. Brown had great coverage until he led the media along by the jockstrap, Ming lost out when it turned out he was boring when public facing. If Clegg can do well, and utilise the obvious talents of Vince to keep his game up at PMQ's then the media will be sedate, especially when there are much bigger fish to fry for being incompetent.

Looks like politics might be fun in the lead up to the next election. Back last summer, Gordon Brown took a look ahead, thought things might turn dicey ,and tried to co-opt the Lib Dems into working with him. Later D. Cameron realised that his future may turn sticky, and has had his go at co-opting the Lib Dems.
Now the Lib Dems have found they are not short of a leader - in Clegg, Huhne and Cable tehy have found three; four if you recount Ming; five if Kennedy stays sober. If Clegg manages to lead that team, Both Gordon and Dave may find the going rough. What odds against the natural conservative coalition if we get a hung Parliament - Tories and New Labour?
